The 12th International Conference on Shaken Baby Syndrome/ Abusive Head Trauma.
  • There were 728 people in attendance at the conference held in Boston.  Sunny Eappen gave a talk entitled “Fathers Moving Forward”, and Debbie Eappen introduced a keynote speaker, Christopher Greeley, M.D.
  • The Matty Eappen Foundation provided grants to five families of victims of Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma which enable them to attend the International Conference.  They were devastated by the trauma to their families, and were able to network with professionals and other parents to help them navigate the complex world of SBS/AHT.
  • The Matty Eappen Foundation hosted a victim family dinner at the International Conference for 70 family members from throughout the U.S.  We shared our stories and offered suggestions and compassion.

Boston Marathon Update
We had 10 Boston Marathon runners on Matty's Team, who endured 26.2 miles in grueling heat to raise funds for the Foundation's programs.  The 2013 Boston Marathon is scheduled for April 15.  If you are interested in helping the Foundation by obtaining a race bib and participating in this elite race, please contact Paul Spellman at paul@pspellman.com.
